Hay un buen número de utilidades de conversión

• unicode permite hacer consultas sobre los caracteres unicode:

• iconv permite la conversión entre codificaciones. El siguiente programa usa iconv para convertir ficheros latin1 a utf-8:

• piconv viene con las distribuciones de Perl superiores a la 5.8
• paps permite imprimir ficheros de texto conteniendo unicode

    --top-margin=NUM        Set top margin. (Default: 36)
    --right-margin=NUM      Set right margin. (Default: 36)
    --left-margin=NUM       Set left margin. (Default: 36)
    --header                Draw page header for each page.
